The Nomad-O-Matic, a 30 mph - 200 MPG Lawn Chair on wheels!!!

The Nomad-O-Matic

(As well as other personal mobility enhancing devices, Secure Weather Resistant Bicycle Trailers, & Custom Wheel Chairs for the Transportationally Impaired.)

Have you seen the NomadOMatic, a three wheeled wheel chair project yet?

Start with a Tadpole Recumbent Trike layout for its natural stability (having a wheel to lean on in a brake turn situation , unlike a delta recumbent trike like the old 3 wheeler ATV's which were notorious for rolling), and aerodynamic teardrop shape , additionally it places the majority of your braking power where it is most useful: on the front axle. The Nomad O Matic has a curb weight of 75#, which includes one gallon of fuel, one gallon of gator aid , a 31cc 4 stroke OHV engine that puts out 1.5 BHP @ sum 7000 rpm bolted to a 5.33:1 gearbox driving a 5/8â€ jack shaft which then communicates my power and/or the assist power to the rear hub which is a 7 speed internal geared shimano nexus with roller brake. The Shimano Nexus ranges from 0-244% in ratio. My 10 gears on top of the 7 speed shimano nexus provide a range from 0-512% in ratio. Totaling 75 gear combinations for me to choose from, see the breakdown in this chart. Next is the chart for the assists gearing. To stop it are installed two mechanical front disk brakes, vented, on one brake lever.

Though it is not quite as fast as the current world speed record holder Sam Whittingham a British Columbia native, who powered his Varna Diablo vehicle (a fully enclosed recumbent) to a world-record 80.55 m.p.h. (126.6 km/h) in October 2001. It promises to be quite a mobility enhancing device for the transportationally impaired.

With a downhill top speed of 70 mph, The pictures are worth more words.

These comfortable recumbent mobility enhancing devices we manufacture, meet all the classifications of a bicycle with an asist. Yet significantly improves ones range of mobility. I personally have done 400 miles in one day on one of these, with no license or insurance required....
